It's fascinating to think that we've come so far with tech over the past 5 yrs, or have we?! On multiple flights namely on American Airlines the wifi connection is a circus between taking 5 minutes to load a page to thinking its not them its me, so perhaps I need to reboot...Nope definitely not the answer. It is definitely them !! My chat assistant Alejandro who was somewhat helpful, described the issue as being " The older aircraft's technology hasn't been optimized for years. This is something we are still working on and hopefully sometime soon we will be able to update the technology equipped on each aircraft". I wouldn't hold my breath, so buyer beware the next time the AA-inflight wifi offering of $10-20 pops-up. Perhaps consider it a charitable contribution to the airlines as part of their COVID recovery effort. How is it anyway that we are 35,000 feet closer to the satellite, yet still feel like we are all using some form of repurposed antiquated dial-up connection! Coincidently when chatting with the customer service folks at Gogo Inflight the connection to chat with them was lightening fast. Go figure!!
